Diary of Lois Elaine Jelin: Entry One Hundred One

Entry One Hundred One

Sunday Fri., May 11             Weather marked as Clear.

Dear Diary,

My foot feels better. Nothing much in school. Lynn & I started letters to Frank and Frenchy. They’re exactly alike. Went out with Bob. We went bowling—he won 2 games, I won 1. Then we played miniture golf. He won. Then we had frosties. Then we rode around. Went past V.N.H.S. then we parked. Kissed twice. Came home and he kissed me good-night. He told me that I kiss warm. So does he. I had a keen time. I hope he asks me out again. Got home 7 min to midnight.

Tuesday, May 6                   Weather marked as Clear

Dear Diary,

Came home from Lynns about 2:00. Bob called & then came over. He’s nice. The Greenbergs came over. Uncle Ruby & I had a talk about Frank & he things I wasn’t (too) wrong in being picked up by him or giving him my address. God damn!!! I can’t get Frank off of my mind. Its driving me crazy!!!!!!!! Gosh but Uncle ruby is wonderfully understanding. He’s my favorite.

Uncle Ruby explained to me why he thought I was right in doing what I did & why I was wrong in ding what I did. He says if he asks me out I could go (if Mom lets me.) Uncle explained how a sailor feels when in & out of uniform. Gosh but Uncle Ruby’s wonderful!

Friday My Birthday, May 2              Weather marked as Clear

Dear Diary,

Harvey can’t go Sat. nite so I guess (although I don’t want to) I’ll have to go with Bob. I got a telegram for my birthday a letter from Hal & some cards. Mom got me a gorgeous shirt & blouse & Bubie some meterial.

Went bowling. Had loads of fun sending notes to & from Birch (he was our pin boy) in the bowling balles. Hi Talent—we tied Manual Arts.
